CSA V

[peas, beets, onions, dandelion greens, parsley, lettuce, sage, gem marigold, cherries, raspberries, sunflowers]

Sunflowers! Such a happy addition to our living room. The peas I ate right away—just rinsed off and crunched through.

Plans: I’m thinking of a quiche maybe, with the onions and dandelion greens. Probably roast the beets as a side. Clafoutis for the cherries, more crumble with the raspberries? Dry the sage, dunno the parsley. And the marigolds? I think would make a nice jelly.

The lettuce I mixed with the radicchio from last week. I thew in some sunflower seeds, cannellini beans, and pickled beets. I tossed everything together with a dressing and ate it with some ravioli. Bitter, but nice. I think it’d be good with feta, too.

The dressing:

  • olive oil
  • tahini
  • lemon juice
  • vinegar
  • splash of maple syrup
  • salt
  • pepper
  • herbes
