CSA Week 15

[gomphrena, basil, parsley, potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce, okra, collards, bartlett pears and yellow peaches, heirloom tomatoes]

Look at these flowers! Gomphrena make me so happy. And seem to resist the bug explosion the other flowers get. This is the last week for extra heirloom tomatoes, and I’m absolutely sad about it. Summer produce is coming to an end. I’m interested to see what will show up in the coming months. Plus, next week is apple cider week, and even if it’s still in the 80s, I can start to pretend it’s fall.

I’ll be making salad, of course, and I found an amazing-looking recipe that’ll use up a lot of these vegetables. Maybe I’ll try something special for the last of the tomatoes. Collards, not sure yet. Fruit will probably just get eaten as is, or I might make a butter or jam.
